Rachael Shimek has been an archaeologist since 2006. She worked as a crew member and project archaeologist on numerous Cultural Resource Management projects in the Midwest and Western United States and has been field director for excavations at the Hell Gap site in Wyoming since 2013. She has several years of experience in archaeological collections management and as a cultural records specialist for the State of Wyoming. Her research interests include zooarchaeology and taphonomy, and human-canid interactions. Rachael is an executive board member of the Wyoming Archaeological Society and the Wyoming Association of Professional Archaeologists.
